Nadia Gollings appointed as General Manager at Huntingdon

20th January 2013

Jockey Club Racecourses (JCR), the UK’s largest racecourse group, today announced the promotion of Nadia Gollings as Huntingdon Racecourse’s new General Manager.

In her new position from Wednesday 23rd January, Gollings will be part of the senior team delivering 18 race meetings at Huntingdon Racecourse, including the popular Boxing Day fixture and Grade 2 Peterborough Chase, and helping to drive continued growth across all other areas of the business, including conferences and events.

She will report into JCR’s East Regional Director, Amy Starkey, who is responsible for the running of Newmarket’s Rowley Mile, Newmarket’s July Course, Huntingdon, Market Rasen and Nottingham Racecourses.

Beginning her career with JCR is 2008, Gollings is currently Group Racing Executive and Analyst based in The Jockey Club’s head offices in High Holborn. In this role, she works with JCR’s Group Racing Director developing and implementing a fixture list for the Group, focused on driving quality and commercial return for the sport.  Daughter of successful Lincolnshire based racehorse trainer Steve Gollings, she has grown up in the horseracing industry.

Previously Gollings was Commercial Manager at Nottingham Racecourse, where she played a crucial role in the development and growth of sales in all areas of the business. Gollings’ appointment follows former General Manager at the track, Sophie Able, moving to the role of JCR’s Regional Sales Manager for the East.

A recruitment process will now be launched by JCR to hire Gollings’ successor in JCR’s Racing Department.

Amy Starkey, East Regional Director for Jockey Club Racecourses, said: “Nadia’s experience within Jockey Club Racecourses and the racing industry will be an invaluable asset in her new role. I am looking forward to working more closely with her as part of our East regional management team and I have every confidence she will help the racecourse go from strength-to-strength in the coming years.”

Nadia Gollings, said: “I’m delighted to be joining the Huntingdon team and excited about starting my new role as General Manager. Having grown up in the industry, I have had a lifelong passion for horseracing and I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity to progress my career in the sport by JCR. This is an exciting time for the Group and I’m looking forward to working with the Huntingdon team as well as the senior management team in the region to deliver the 2013 race programme as well as build the non-racing side of the business.”
