Previously he was Finance Director for British Gas’ New Markets division, Finance Director for British Gas Pay as You Go Energy unit and prior to that a Finance Manager at The Automobile Association (AA). He began his career at Ernst & Young, where he spent almost six years.
A keen horseracing fan, Truesdale is originally from Hillsborough, Northern Ireland and attained a degree in Economics from Cambridge University. He has been a qualified Chartered Accountant since 1998 and is a Full Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
Simon Bazalgette, Group Chief Executive, The Jockey Club, said:
“Nevin brings just the right blend of experience and enthusiasm to this role. I’m confident he will become an excellent member of our senior team, contributing to business strategy and ensuring our financial operations and performance goes from strength-to-strength in the coming years. We were absolutely delighted by the calibre of applications we received for the role and it is testament to Nevin that he stood out.”
Nevin Truesdale said:
"I'm absolutely delighted to be joining The Jockey Club at a very exciting time in its development. I'm very sorry to be leaving my role at British Gas, but the opportunity to be part of a very strong team, in a sector I have a huge interest in, was an easy one to accept.
"I look forward to working with the Stewards, the executive team and all of the people across The Jockey Club's businesses to contribute to the strategic direction and future growth of the Group, building on very strong 2012 results.
