cheltenham's big day out

Start the year in style at the Home of Jump Racing

There is only one place to start your 2019 and that is a day at the races here at Cheltenham Racecourse.

New Year's Day hosts seven quality races, including two Grade 2s with trainers, jockeys and racegoers all hoping to get their year off to a flyer.

Are you travelling from Cheltenham Spa Station to the Racecourse?

There will be a bus service running from Cheltenham Spa Train Station from 9:45am until approximately 12:30pm. There will be a return bus service to the Train Station starting at 3:15pm for approximately three hours depending on demand.

Come along for a fantastic day of racing, with bars and restaurants open to suit all palates throughout the day. Remember, kids go FREE!

The Family Fun Zone, located in the tented village for Club/Tatts ticket holders, has a whole host of activities on offer: from rosette making and giant inflatables to walking pet balloons and the Wheel of Fortune plus, Paw Patrol's Chase and Marshall will be making personal appearances at intervals throughout the day. Appearances from Paw Patrol's Chase and Marshall will be at 11am, 12noon, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm in the Family Fun Zone. Remember, under 18s go free!

For Club/Tatts ticket holders, you will be able to enjoy live music from our Festival favourites The Wickermen who are performing throughout the day in The Guinness Village to get your 2019 off to a fantastic start. Be sure to check them out.

Enjoy live music in The Centaur after racing from The Hipcats Big Band. The Hipcats are well-known for their brilliant performances of upbeat jazz and swing with a cool and contemporary twist – songs you know and love with a few surprises too. Their stellar line-up of musicians have performed at top venues across the UK and they are always a great hit. Make sure you don’t miss these kings of swing for Club/Tatts ticket holders.

Please note: bags being brought into the racecourse must be no larger than A4 paper (30cm x 20cm x 30cm).
