Cheltenham Ready
With Dom Joly

Dom Joly at The Festival

The countdown to The Festival™ has already started, and last year we teamed up with, Cheltenham local Dom Joly who decided if you can’t beat them, join them, in his quest to become Cheltenham Ready.

We loved everything that he got up to. Dom, local resident and best known as the star of Trigger Happy TV presents a four-part series where he discovers how to get ready for the Cheltenham Festival. It was so good, we have kept his extraordinary journey going for another year.

Dom admitted he is horse savvy but when it comes to knowing much about horse racing and understanding racing terminology and jargon this is where he stumbles.

Join us as we help TV star and comedian Dom Joly enjoy the intricacies and confusion of getting ready for the legendary Cheltenham Festival.

Episode 1: Looking The Part

Follow Dom to London where he visits tailors, Dress2Kill who are on hand to advise on what Dom should wear to the races.

With the help of SKY TV presenter Rachel Wyse, he chooses his tweed outfit that he will wear on Ladies Day.

Episode 2: What’s All This About Horses?

Dom Joly visits the yard of trainer Fergal O’Brien. Getting up ridiculously early (his words!), Dom has a tour of the yard and watches the horses on the gallops, while Fergal chats to him about life as a trainer and most importantly the chances of the three horses running that afternoon.

Episode 3: Sounding The Part

Dom Joly prepares to get ‘Cheltenham Ready’ ahead of the Festival. Watch as he learns all about sounding the part from those in the know at the racecourse. What to do, how to bet, what’s the lingo? We’ve got it covered.

Episode 4: Cheltenham Ready

Dom Joly joined us for Ladies Day at The Festival™ 2018, where he completed his journey of becoming Cheltenham Ready.

Check out the highlights of Dom’s trip to day two of Cheltenham Races. You’ve got to try it!
