Located in The Orchard™, the Gin & Jazz Lounge™ offers a base for the day, sanctuary and smooth sounds throughout the day and is open until 7pm. Offering a stellar selection of gins and a limited range of alternative drinks, the lounge promises an experience to try some of the finest gins around and enjoy smooth jazz music from timeless quality singer Sara Dowling.*

Our Gin and Jazz lounge™ Performers at the festival 2019 were
Gifted with immensely emotional vocals, her influences are wide and far-reaching.
Born from an Irish father and Lebanese mother, she was surrounded by the turning records of her father’s jazz collection. Influenced by Sarah Vaughan, Betty Carter and Dakota Staton, she is now one of the U.K’s leading jazz vocalist, regularly performing at London’s prestigious Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club and the 606 Jazz Club.
She is known for her interpretations of classic ballads leaving audiences spell bound as well as the energy and vigor with which she tackles the up tempo standards from the American Song Book.

Andy Chapman - Drums
Andy is a graduate of both the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the famed artist development programme Tomorrow’s Warriors. As a sideman he has worked with some of the biggest names in British jazz including Lianne Carroll, Dave O’Higgins, Mike Outram, Ian Shaw, Gilad Atzman, Martin Speake and Gary Crosby OBE and has performed at Ronnie Scott’s many times.
He features on three albums with award winning singer Zara McFarlane, with whom he has toured Europe extensively. Now based in Dorset, his drumming remains in great demand.
Andy is now the house drummer at the Sandbanks Jazz Cafe where he can be found performing most weekends.
Joe Limburn- Double Bass
Joe first picked up the double bass at school and at the age of 17 was quickly offered a place at the world-class Berkelee College in the USA but unable to take up the offer, soon found a place at The Royal Academy in London where he studied jazz bass.
Joe has played with numerous jazz artists throughout his career such as Ian Shaw, Jim Mullen, Simon Allen, Ted Carrasco, and Jacqui Hicks. He has also featured on various albums including the saxophonist Paul Yeung, Dave Quincey amongst others and continues to perform around the UK along with running and managing various jazz events.
Phil Doyle - Piano
Phil is an extremely accomplished musician and one of the most sought after jazz pianists in the South.
He has performed many alongside American touring musicians such as Scott Hamilton, Bobby Shew and Pee Wee Ellis, as well as some of the top UK artists such as Nigel Hitchcock, Gilad Atzmon and Tina May.
He is a long-standing member of the Joe Loss Orchestra and the Sound of Blue Note band and also leads his own trio.
