Are you wondering how fans of the infamous sporting event can watch all the action from home?
The Cheltenham Festival returns from Tuesday 16 - Friday 19 March 2021 and we want to make sure you're prepared!
Watching Cheltenham live on TV is sure to be a different experience from the usual glamour and excitement of attending a day at Cheltenham racecourse, but there’s no reason why you can’t still enjoy yourselves and make an occasion of it at home!
If you’re planning to watch Cheltenham from home, here’s everything you’ll need to prepare for a virtual race day.
First, you need to decide if you want to watch the Cheltenham Festival on TV or through a Livestream on a device like a tablet, laptop or smartphone.
There are two options when it comes to watching Cheltenham on TV from home - ITV Racing and Racing TV. Almost all of the races from The Festival will be available to watch for free on ITV Racing, while Racing TV provides full coverage and is available through Sky and Virgin Media. Head to our where to watch The Cheltenham Festival page for full details.
Live streaming Cheltenham is another option if you don’t have Sky or Virgin media, or you can’t watch from your television. ITV Racing and Racing TV will both be live streaming the Cheltenham Festival races – including the WellChild Cheltenham Gold Cup.
- Set up an account - You will need to create an account to access ITV and Racing TV online. Make sure this is set up before The Festival starts – you don’t want to miss any of the action!
- Check your internet connection - If you’re watching The Festival via livestream, make sure you have a reliable internet connection, either via WiFi or your smartphone’s data. If you are using smartphone data, make sure your package will cover the usage!
You can find out more about how to access the live streams on our where to watch The Cheltenham Festival page.
While we know watching Cheltenham Festival from home simply won’t compare to the thrill of being at the races, we still want racing fans to make an occasion of it!
It’s true that there aren’t many occasions to get dressed up anymore, but if you love attending the races because it’s an excuse to showcase your style and dress to the nines, there’s no reason you can’t do the same at home! Dust off your suits and party dresses and strut your stuff in your living room while you watch the races.
A day at the races is usually accompanied by fine dining and plenty of bubbles, so recreate the experience at home! Treat yourself to a Festival™ at Home Hamper brought to you by British Fine Foods. Or prepare your own or order in some of your favourite foods and enjoy them while you watch the races with a bottle of fizz to toast to the occasion.
