It hosts many of the world’s most iconic racing festivals, from the Randox Health Grand National Meeting at Aintree to the Cheltenham Festival and the Investec Derby Festival at Epsom Downs to the QIPCO Guineas Festival at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile.
The Jockey Club formed its racecourse arm in 1964 with the objective of securing the future of racecourses. Its first purchase was Cheltenham Racecourse, which was nurtured back to health with considerable investment and now operates as one of the most revered racecourses in the world.
Today, Jockey Club Racecourses aims to be the best racecourse operator in Europe for customers and racing’s participants, generating the maximum funds available for reinvestment in the long-term development of its venues and British racing as a sport, in line with the mission of The Jockey Club.

Racing’s largest investor
In the last eight years, Jockey Club Racecourses has distributed £287.1 million in prize money to the sport’s participants and invested more than £150 million in state-of-the-art developments to its facilities and turf surfaces.
The Group strives to ensure its courses are always in excellent condition so that racing is fair, safe and of a consistently excellent quality. Groundstaff continue to set international standards for turf management and Jockey Club Racecourses has led the way with its investment in frost covers to minimise abandonments for bad weather as much as possible.
Rewarding customer loyalty
Jockey Club Racecourses is setting new standards for rewarding customer loyalty. In early 2011, The Jockey Club launched Rewards4Racing, its unique cardless loyalty programme which offers members the ability to earn points to redeem for racing rewards simply through their everyday shopping at more than 4,000 online retailers and high street outlets, as well as any online spend with Jockey Club Racecourses.

Excellent conference and event facilities
Beyond the raceday, Jockey Club Racecourses maximises the use of its facilities for conferencing, events, exhibitions, weddings and non-racing leisure pursuits, such as golf, equestrian sport and karting, with profits supporting its core racing business.
In total, Jockey Club Racecourses offers 81 function rooms and 230 syndicate rooms, along with 40,000 free parking spaces. It can offer a room suitable for a meeting of half a dozen people through to an auditorium that can comfortably seat 2,000 delegates for a large conference.
