BetVictor completes Kempton Park's all-weather sponsonship
28th January 2013
World-leading sports betting and gaming company, BetVictor, has expanded its support of British racing by signing a six-figure partnership with Jockey Club Racecourses’ (JCR) all-weather floodlit racetrack, Kempton Park Racecourse.
The new sponsorship deal involves the betting and gaming company adding 33 all-weather track (AWT) meetings staged at Europe’s premier AWT venue to its increasing horseracing sponsorship portfolio, which already features events at several of The Jockey Club’s racecourses.
The sponsorship means every race staged on Kempton Park’s AWT in 2013 has a confirmed sponsor, an advantageous position for the course which hosts a total of 95 fixtures a year, including 10 National Hunt fixtures on the turf. Included in the new BetVictor sponsorship are five of Kempton Park’s leading AWT races, including the televised Rosebery Handicap.
BetVictor’s current industry sponsorship includes this weekend’s Victor Chandler Chase, now being staged at The Jockey Club’s Cheltenham Racecourse, as well as the Group 3 Rose of Lancaster Stakes at JCR’s Haydock Park Racecourse.
Rupert Trevelyan, London Regional Director for Jockey Club Racecourses, with responsibility for the running of Kempton Park, Epsom Downs and Sandown Park racecourses, said:
“We are delighted that BetVictor has expanded its sponsorship with Jockey Club Racecourses at Kempton Park by adding 33 all-weather meetings to its portfolio. All-weather courses are often relied upon by the industry to provide racing opportunities throughout the year and in particular for grassroots levels of the sport. BetVictor is supporting a course that reinvests every penny it makes, which is The Jockey Club’s raison d’être and I’m sure this will prove a highly mutually beneficial partnership.”
Karl Riley, Director of Marketing at BetVictor, said:
“The value of all-weather racing for the whole industry has been highlighted in recent days and Kempton Park and the other tracks have been quite magnificent in keeping the show on the road in the recent cold snap and we are delighted to show our continued support for British horseracing by adding this 33-meeting six-figure sponsorship to our growing portfolio.
“Cheltenham hosted our flagship event the Victor Chandler Chase this weekend, following the abandonment at Ascot, but this sponsorship shows we are equally committed to helping ‘grassroots’ racing that keeps the industry ticking over day in and day out and provides so much great sport.”
