Four national accolades for The Jockey Club’s racecourses
15th November 2013
The Jockey Club, owners of 15 leading British racecourses, has won four out of eleven awards at the Racecourse Association (RCA) Showcase Awards.
The Jockey Club’s achievements include Aintree Racecourse winning the inaugural Racing Post Readers Award, granted from racegoers examples of fantastic customer service. The Group’s other accolades were for Operational Excellence at the 2013 Cheltenham Festival, Warwick Racecourse’s unique Bollywood Raceday marketing campaign and Market Rasen and Nottingham’s local initiative for their winning connection’s prizes in the twitter feed #TopSpot Award.
Now in its fourth year, The Showcase Awards recognise excellence and innovation in the customer experience at British racecourses across seven award categories; All About the Horse; Best Campaign; Corporate Social Responsibility; Events; Food and Beverage; Operational Excellence; and Owners’ Experience.
Paul Fisher, Group Managing Director, Jockey Club Racecourses, said:
"I’m extremely proud that the hard work, innovation and creativity I regularly see across The Jockey Club’s tracks has been formally recognised by these national awards.
“Racecourses work very hard looking for ways to improve the experience of the six million customers that go racing each year alongside the participants that bring our sport to life and these awards offer us a chance to celebrate our often overlooked achievements.”
Commenting on the awards, Ian Barlow, RCA Chairman, said,
“It has been fantastic to see the growth of the Showcase Awards over the last four years. Every year the standard of entry has risen which is proof of how hard our racecourses are working to promote our wonderful sport by providing an excellent day at the races.”
