Having teamed up with great success at other equine events, The Jockey Club and The Outside Chance are introducing the popular public bar, The Outside Chance, to the home of Jump racing, Cheltenham Racecourse, for The Open on 11th-13th November.

Designed as a relaxed haven during the day and a lively bar post-racing, The Outside Chance will offer something extra to racegoers during The Open and attract non-regular or new racegoers to attend for the good of the sport. At Badminton Horse Trials over the last two years, The Outside Chance has been hailed as “one of the best sports bars in the world” and “the place to be seen”.
Two of The Outside Chance’s biggest fans are glamorous duo, Chanelle McCoy and Emma Spencer. Chanelle is wife of the 16 times Champion Jump Jockey, AP McCoy and Emma is part of the Channel 4 Racing presenting team.

Chanelle McCoy said: “Racegoers will find it new and exciting, glam and good fun, something different, and all for the better. See you in there!”
At Cheltenham, The Outside Chance will be situated in a beautifully themed marquee that will cater for up to 750 racegoers during and after racing, housed within the busy Open Shopping Village close to the paddock, with easy access to  racecourse viewing.
Open until late each day of the meeting, The Outside Chance will have a 15 metre long bar, comfortable seating, large plasma screens, a DJ booth and dancefloor. In true club style, it will also house an exclusive VIP enclosure, located on a private stage with its own illuminated cocktail bar and table waitress service.
As a public bar, everyone is welcome and there is no entrance fee, although it is recommended that to ensure entry for the after-party or to reserve a VIP table, racegoers visit The Outside Chance prior to the party to collect free wrist-bands.
At the start of each day, visitors will get to see top jockeys and trainers giving their views on the day’s racing and totepool will be on hand to take bets throughout the day. After racing the party really starts when the bar transforms into a nightclub with celebrity DJs visiting from London to play club classics, party anthems and funky house tunes.
Paul Fisher, Group Managing Director of Jockey Club Racecourses, said:

“We place high value on offering the best racing in the country, but also the best possible overall experience for our racegoers. We’ve had great success reaching horse lovers and promoting racing through working with The Outside Chance at Badminton and Barbury this year, so now it’s time to trial the facility on-course. Where better to start than at Cheltenham?”
The Outside Chance is a joint venture between entertainment entrepreneur Howard Spooner, owner of London’s hottest nightclub Public, Guy Sangster and Freddie Tulloch. The original Outside Chance is an award-winning pub just outside Marlborough, owned by Howard and Guy who bought the pub with their winnings after Howard’s horse, a 100-1 longshot aptly named Only Dreams, won a race.

Now the pair have teamed up with Freddie Tulloch, whose own family has had considerable success at Cheltenham, with both Pollardstown and My Young Man winning races at The Festival, and together their aim is to create a venue that encourages young people to come racing – a welcoming watering hole for all.
