Newmarket Alcohol Policy

PACE YOURSELF AT NEWMARKET RACECOURSES

A Challenge 25 policy is operated across all premises. If a customer appears to be under 25 then we require proof that they are over 18, before alcohol will be sold. In these circumstances, our bar teams will ask to see an acceptable form of proof of age identification. If a customer cannot provide this, they will be politely refused service and advised to return with the necessary ID. In accordance with the Home Office guidelines, we only accept 4 types of proof of age ID.

For more details, please see our alcohol policy

Alcohol Free Area - No alcoholic drinks are permitted trackside in the Premier Enclosure. We have a long standing policy in the Premier Enclosure whereby alcoholic drinks or hot drinks without a lid cannot be taken stand side to ensure this area remains a comfortable, relaxed area to enjoy the racing. You may take food and drink purchased at the racecourse trackside within the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure.

Patrons are permitted to bring picnics into the Garden Enclosure only. Alcohol can only be brought in with a substantial picnic and it is limited to one bottle of wine or champagne per person or 4 cans of beer, cider or pre-mixed aperitif. Unfortunately, spirits, fortified wines and Pimm's or similar will not be allowed onto the racecourse.

In order to ensure that all our visitors enjoy the racing and entertainment, we respectfully request that you are considerate to other visitors and racecourse staff. We take a zero tolerance position on anti-social behaviour, drugs and the misuse of alcohol. Anyone engaging in these behaviours will be ejected from the racecourse and dealt with appropriately.
