OWNERS & TRAINERS AT huntingdon RACECOURSE
Updated on 4 december
AN UPDATE ON OWNERS ATTENDING THE RACECOURSE
In line with government restrictions imposed from Wednesday 2 December, there are a number of revised measures which have been put in place. Participants should be aware of the rates of infection and follow government guidelines and racing protocols to protect their own safety and local communities. This is of vital importance to allow racing to demonstrate that it is safe to continue.
While owners will be able to continue attending race meetings in England, having consulted with government, new measures on course will include:
- No more than four owners per horse will be able to attend, complying with the restriction that limits social mixing between households;
- Owners must adhere to the Rule of 6 and in Tier 2 areas must not socialise with anyone they do not live with or who is not in their support bubble when indoors.
- Racecourses will be able to provide a reduced hospitality offer and alcohol will only be served with a substantial meal.
- Face coverings will be mandatory in all areas, unless eating or drinking.
Owners and participants attending meetings will be expected to adhere to Government’s travel guidance, and should travel directly to and from the venue without stopping where possible, and avoid car sharing with anyone outside their own household or support bubble.
RETURN OF SPECTATORS RACING
Owners may not pass their unused badges to owners without horses competing that day or to other racegoers. This is a breach of the current restriction imposed by the UK, Wales and Scottish governments.
Following changes to Government coronavirus requirements, from Wednesday 2nd December, sporting venues are permitted to welcome the return of a limited number of spectators. Huntingdon Racecourse is situated within a Tier 2 restricted area and will abide to the relevant legislation. All attendees attending British race meetings will be asked to gather in no more than groups of six people. This rule applies to all indoor and outdoor areas of the Owner Zone.
In order to ensure the provision of correct and up to date information, all owners and their guests will be asked to provide their through the PASS System in advance of the day. The data will be collected, stored and managed in line with GDPR.
All owners and guests should continue to observe social distancing guidelines and wear face coverings at all times.
We wish you the best of luck with your horse/s and look forward to welcoming you to Huntingdon.
