The Betfred Derby Festival
The Betfred Derby Festival is one of the world’s only sporting events where you can watch the action for FREE! The Hill is the beating heart of The Betfred Derby Festival where we invite everyone to join in and experience the unique carnival atmosphere. The fun runs all day with food & drink, big screens, a market and funfair. Track-side viewing, the Tote, bookmakers and racecards are all easily accessible too. Make sure to register for this FREE ticketed area.
Community Zone
The Community Zone at The Betfred Derby Festival is a vibrant, family-friendly space designed to celebrate the heart and spirit of the local community. This welcoming area brings together a diverse mix of local businesses and community organisations, all showcasing what makes the region unique.

BBQS
BBQs are back! Only for Derby weekend, bring your own BBQ and enjoy a great day out on The Hill.
- BBQs are permitted to be used in the designated area on The Hill
- Look out for the flags which mark the area or please ask one of our event staff for guidance.
- BBQs must be raised from the ground. Disposable ones are not permitted.
- Please use the BBQ bins provided for the safe disposal of hot ash
- Free pedestrian access.
Betfred Square
Head to Betfred Square for a thrilling day out at The Betfred Derby Festival! See the horses as they thunder home up the finishing straight.
- Place a bet with Betfred
- Watch the action on the big screen
- Bars, food concessions and toilets are available
- Free pedestrian access
- Bring your own seat, gazebo and picnic and make an area of The Hill your own for the day
The Funfair
Dare devils and thrill seekers head to the Funfair on The Hill!
- Open from 11am – 7pm for the two days of The Betfred Derby Festival
- Tokens will be available to buy from the Funfair operators.

The Market
The Market is a traditional part of The Betfred Derby Festival. You’ll be amazed at what you can find in the Market from clothes to homeware and one-off pieces, a visit to The Market is not to be missed.

Parking on The Hill
Parking is available free of charge on The Hill across both days of The Betfred Derby Festival.
We are working hard to ensure all guests who attend the Betfred Derby Festival can enjoy their time with us and are kept safe. In order to do so, we have a range of additional security measures in place throughout the event. This will include:
- Enhanced CCTV across site
- Additional searches on arrival and around the venue
- Drug Detection Dogs
Guests are reminded of our Zero Tolerance approach to Anti Social behaviours or illegal activity.
