Kempton Park Community Raceday

We’ve been at the heart of Sunbury-on-Thames since July 1878 when businessman S.H Hyde saw 400 acres of land ‘for sale or lease’ between Hampton Court and Sunbury on Thames and decided this would be the perfect location for a racecourse. We’ve seen some change in our 148 year history and the Kempton Park Community Raceday is the perfect opportunity to celebrate our history!

After a hugely successful event in 2025, the Kempton Park Community Day returns for 2026! Join us on the May Bank Holiday for a brilliant day of racing, family fun and community spirit.

With adult tickets just £5 in advance and under 18s going free, it’s the perfect excuse to pack a blanket, bring the family and enjoy a day filled with sport, laughter and feel-good community spirit. From the roar of the racetrack to relaxed moments in our Picnic Enclosure, this is bank holiday fun done properly.

Free Family Entertainment

Community Day isn’t just about the racing. It’s about giving families a full day out to remember.

Alongside free family entertainment such as face painting and arts & crafts throughout the afternoon, we’re introducing a brand new Best Dressed Children’s Competition for 2026. We’re inviting young racegoers to come in their most imaginative fancy dress, whether that’s superheroes, storybook characters, animals, athletes or something wonderfully unexpected.

There’s a fantastic prize up for grabs too, with one lucky winner taking home a £500 Smyths Toys voucher. So dust off the costumes, get creative and let their personalities shine.

With games, activities and plenty of space to enjoy your own picnic, Community Day is set to be bursting with colour, energy and unforgettable moments from start to finish.
