CLAN DES OBEAUX 5-2 FAVOURITE TO GAIN THIRD LADBROKES KING GEORGE VI CHASE AS 10 HORSES ARE CONFIRMED

Article 20th December 2021 Kempton Park

Clan Des Obeaux heads the market at 5-2 with the sponsor for the Grade One Ladbrokes King George VI Chase at Kempton Park (Sunday 26th December) as 10 entries were confirmed today for Jump racing’s winter highlight.

The Paul Nicholls-trained nine year old was successful in the 2018 and 2019 runnings before finishing third to stablemate Frodon a year ago. Nicholls, Britain’s 12-times champion Jump trainer, has also left in Saint Calvados as he chases a record-extending 13th King George victory.

The 2021 Cheltenham Gold Cup hero Minella Indo also goes forward. Trained by Ireland’s all-conquering Henry de Bromhead, Barry Maloney’s eight year old will be bidding to become the eighth Irish-trained King George winner and the first since Tom Taaffe saddled Kicking King to success in 2005.
