This is where the horses and riders parade before each race. It's your opportunity to get a good look at the ones you fancy before you place your bets.

Nothing can beat the excitement of watching a race from the rails – the flashing colours and thundering hooves as the field races by is a moment to savour, especially if you can get near the finish line.

The Steppings

Sandown Park has steppings in both the Grandstand and the Premier Enclosure, with the latter level with the Winning Post. The steppings are set back from the track but allow racegoers to view the race from a height which provides a great view all the way down the finishing straight.
