An Aintree racegoer was named Best Dressed at The Style Awards 2026 on Ladies Day, and admitted it was "meant to be" after she lost part of her outfit before she arrived at the racecourse.
Hannah Smith, 29, from Edinburgh, put together her look, a soft pink suit with flower-embellished fitted jacket and chiffon maxi skirt from Dutch fashion company Leyna Dresses, and a Millinery by Mel fascinator, for less than £400.
Hannah didn't think she had a chance of Style Awards victory at this year's Randox Grand National Festival, after a petal on her fascinator fell off before she left her hotel on Friday morning, but admitted it made her outfit look "more unique".
She said: "I thought there was no way I was going to win, there are so many people here.
"I lost one of the petals on my hat this morning and I was really gutted. But nobody has actually noticed, so it's fine.
"It was literally when I was coming down the lift in the hotel. It was meant to be for it to fall off - it made it more unique.
"Me and my friend love a good outfit and we go to Musselburgh races, which is near us, and we love entering the fashion competitions.
"So I entered today, and it has paid off.
"I picked the jacket and the skirt first, and I got the fascinator after. I just pieced it all together. I just wanted to find something baby pink.
"Pink isn't even my colour normally. I'm quite fresh, but I thought I'd go out of my comfort zone with a wee bit of pale pink, and I really liked it on."
This year, thanks to official Style Partner Debenhams, Best Dressed winner Hannah scooped a luxury trip for two to Ibiza worth up to £4,000, and she is looking forward to visiting the White Island for the first time thanks to her Style Awards win.
She said: "I've never been to Ibiza, and I was saying to my friend recently, 'We need to go to Ibiza.'
"I don't know who is coming with me yet. It's a secret for now. Everyone will want to be my best pal now."
Hannah also scooped two Garden Club tickets to Ladies Day at the Randox Grand National 2027.
This year's Style Awards featured two new categories, Best Suited - which recognised impeccable tailoring - and Best Hat, which honoured bold, beautiful and unforgettable millinery.
Euan Perryman, 22, from Liverpool was named Best Suited for his £2,500 custom-made Loro Piana suit, and he had a strong feeling he would be victorious after wearing the same outfit last year.
He said: "I came here with full confidence. I told everyone, 'You're going to see me on the telly.' I had a feeling about it.
"I wore this last year, but I didn't get a chance to enter. I was a bit gutted.
"But this year, as soon as I walked through the gates the organisers said, 'We want you,' but I was like, 'I was already coming to you, mate.'
"They took my picture and I had full confidence. I feel like if you're not confident you're not going to win it.
"I come to Aintree every year, and Ladies Day landed on my birthday last year. All year it's been on my mind to enter."
For being named Best Suited, Euan landed an exclusive £1,000 Debenhams voucher to spend onsite, hospitality for two at the 154th Open at Royal Birkdale, and two Garden Club tickets to Ladies Day at the Randox Grand National 2027.
Sarah Williams, 46, from St Helens, scooped the Best Hat award thanks to her £180 pink, rose gold and glittery headpiece, with butterfly decorations, from Gilly’s Millinery.
Sarah won a prize haul of a British spa date for two worth up to £2,000, two Garden Club tickets to Ladies Day at the Randox Grand National 2027, and hospitality for two at an Aintree Racecourse fixture of choice in 2026.
She said: "I'm absolutely blown away to win. I was not expecting it at all.
"I have forgotten quite a few times how big the hat is. I've bashed it on an umbrella. But it's not too bad, it's kept together with clips.
"I spotted it and fell in love with it straight away. It's everything a girl can dream of. It jumped out at me and I thought, 'I have to have it.'
"I bought it for the races and picked the rest of my outfit around it. I had no intention of entering, but I got peer pressured into entering."
The trio were chosen as The Style Awards 2026 prize winners by three judges, Debenhams Ambassador and internationally acclaimed milliner Lisa Tan, social media star and Liverpool style icon Josie Peaches, and The Guide Liverpool presenter Rachael Rhodes.
