JET2, RACING WELFARE AND THATPRIZEGUY TO SPONSOR GRADE ONE HIGHLIGHTS AT THE RANDOX GRAND NATIONAL FESTIVAL

Aintree Racecourse today announces sponsors for three of the Grade One races staged at next week’s Randox Grand National Festival.

Britain’s largest tour operator Jet2 and online competition website ThatPrizeGuy are venturing into horseracing sponsorship for the first time with the £250,000 Liverpool Hurdle and £100,000 Top Novices’ Hurdle respectively, while the £250,000 3m 1f Grade One chase on Opening Day will be run as the Racing Welfare Bowl.

Dickon White, The Jockey Club’s North West Regional Director, said: “As the build-up to next week’s Randox Grand National Festival reaches a crescendo, we’re absolutely delighted to be announcing these three Grade One race partnerships today.

“We’re very fortunate to work with a broad portfolio of sponsors here at Aintree and the team are really pleased to be working with two brands who are new to horseracing sponsorship in Jet2 and ThatPrizeGuy.

“It’s also fantastic to be staging the Bowl in Racing Welfare’s name this year, which will help highlight the vital role the charity plays in British horseracing day in, day out.”

Opening Day on Thursday 9th April features four Grade One contests and the £250,000 3m 1f Grade One chase will be staged as the Racing Welfare Bowl next week. Won over the years by many great names from Desert Orchid to Gaelic Warrior, this year’s renewal will highlight the work carried out by Racing Welfare and the support it provides to the industry’s workforce.

As part of The Jockey Club and a registered charity, Racing Welfare offers professional guidance and practical help to all racing people – including stud, stable, and racecourse staff, alongside those working in associated professions. Racing Welfare’s work aims to help people, from recruitment to retirement, to thrive in day-to-day life and through a range of life challenges.

There are a further four Grade One contests on Ladies Day (Friday 10th April), including the £100,000 Top Novices’ Hurdle which will now be sponsored by ThatPrizeGuy in a two-year deal. Past winners of the extended two-mile contest include the future Champion Hurdle winners Granville Again (1991) and Buveur d'Air (2016).

Based in Northern Ireland and operating for more than six years, ThatPrizeGuy is an online competition website that offers users the chance to win luxury cars, houses, cash, and holidays. It has handed out more than £200 million pounds worth of prizes so far and created 11 individual millionaires, as well as donating more than £1 million to charity.

The Grade One £250,000 Liverpool Hurdle, the contest immediately preceding the Randox Grand National itself on Saturday 11th April, will be sponsored by Jet2. A contest for staying hurdlers staged over an extended three miles, past winners include the great Big Buck's who was successful in four consecutive years between 2009 and 2012.

Since it was established in 2003, Jet2 has grown to become the UK’s largest tour operator and third largest airline, operating from 14 UK airports to more than 75 destinations across Europe, the Mediterranean, Canary Islands and North Africa.
