Work has begun on doubling the size of Exeter Racecourse’s owners and trainers’ facilities taking the seated capacity from 78 to 162.
The existing area will be completely refurbished and modernised so that it moulds seamlessly with the extended facility offering a much larger space in which owners and trainers can enjoy their Exeter Racecourse experience.
This relaxing yet stylish room will allow owners and trainers to enjoy racing at Exeter in a warm and welcoming environment, and with full glass frontage, there are unrivalled views across the course while TV screens within the room will allow close scrutiny of races as they unfold.
Food and drink will be offered in a separate area with a new hot beverage counter serving the finest quality tea and coffee, and the bar area will be extended. The menu will also be redesigned offering more choices to suite every palette.
To ensure owners and trainers have an enjoyable time while visiting the Devon course, a new liaison manager will be available on each raceday to help enhance the raceday experience.
General manager Jack Parkinson said: “We’re delighted to be able to carry out these improvements to the racecourse that will greatly improve the experience of our owners and trainers. We’ve closely analysed how the room is used and we hope that these chances will create a much more user friendly area that will enable all our owners and trainers to enjoy their visit to Exeter Racecourse. The food we offer will also be central to this racecourse experience and we very much hope that our new menus, with a focus on local food, will be popular.”
The new room will be completed by August in time for the 2018/19 Jump season.
