Country and Western enthusiasts are being encouraged to dust off their stetsons and riding boots, as the hugely popular Wild West Beer Fest returns to Market Rasen on Saturday 26th September.

The Lincolnshire racecourse will very much meet the ranch with a series of themed events, including specialist food, line dancing and a rodeo bull for those brave enough, while four-piece band Near Nashville will keep the party going after the racing finishes.

Local breweries Docks Beers, Munyards Brewery and 8th Sail Brewery will all have stalls on course, while there will be 10 prizes for the best-dressed cowboys and cowgirls on the day, including prizes from two-time The Wedding Industry award-winning brands Ruby & Co and Simpsons Beauty Group.

he fixture also marks the beginning of the Jump season ‘proper’ at the track, with the feature being the competitive-looking Lincoln Handicap Hurdle over an extended two miles.

 

Market Rasen General Manager and Clerk of the Course, Alice Cosgrove, commented: “It’s been a fantastic summer of racing at Market Rasen, which included another hugely successful Ladies Day, and we are itching to move into the winter schedule.

“There’s no better way to do so than with our Wild West Beer Fest, which always proves to be a hit with racegoers, particularly those with a soft spot for country music. There were some fantastic cowboy and cowgirl outfits on display last year, and I fear for the judges of the best dressed competition, as that often proves to be the tightest race of the day!

“We are particularly excited to welcome back Rachel Allman from Love 2 Line Dance with Rachel, who took over the General Admission enclosure last year and we saw our first-ever flashmob on a raceday!
