Kempton Park has been named as one of the best racecourses in the country for owners, and awarded Gold Standard status for 2015. Twelve of Britain’s 60 racecourses were awarded the status. The accolade, given in a competitive way for the first time this year, comes from the Racehorse Owners Association, the body that has represented racehorse owners for 70 years and currently has more than 7,300 members. ROA representatives visited Kempton Park, along with every other racecourse in Britain at least once between January and early October to assess every aspect of the owners’ race day experience. In addition, feedback was provided by hundreds of ROA members following their racecourse visits.
Racecourses were divided into two categories – larger and smaller – with their classification decided by a range of factors, including the quality of racing and attendance figures. Kempton was one of six tracks in the smaller racecourse category that was considered to provide owners with the best race day experience and will now hold the Gold Standard status for the next 12 months.
Steve Parlett, General Manager, at Kempton Park racecourse commented ‘’ There are a number of racecourses that offer an exceptional experience for owners and it is of great credit to everyone here at Kempton Park that the RCA recognise us as one of them.’’
