Who said Jump racing’s just for the winter?!

The highlight of the summer jumps season, Betway Summer Plate Day, is Lincolnshire’s most popular summer occasion and combines top quality racing with a fun family atmosphere.

A highly competitive seven-race card is headlined by the Listed Betway Summer Plate Handicap Chase over 2mm 5f, a race which wouldn’t look out of place on a high profile Saturday in colder months.

A real favourite with racegoers and pundits alike, the race has provided several recent winners who have gone on to enjoy good campaigns, including Alcala (2017) and Casablanca Mix (2019).

This card is unique in that it gives a chance for yards which specialise in training jumps horses on firmer ground to test their mettle against the likes of multiple-champion trainer title winners like Paul Nicholls and Nicky Henderson.

Another race to note is the Listed Betway Summer Handicap Hurdle over two miles, while it’s worth remembering there is entertainment aplenty off the track for racegoers of all ages too.

Dress to impress or come as you are – the one certainty on Betway Summer Plate Day is that there’s always something for everyone!
