Sandown Park Racecourse

Give the gift of giving at the Betfair Tingle Creek Festival

This year Sandown Park will be working with the Lower Green Community Centre, located just behind the racecourse, to help provide the families and children of the local community with a Christmas to remember. The financial climate and current energy crisis means that this year is likely to be a challenging winter for many families. With the support of the community centre and you, our racegoers, we are hoping to be able to provide giftcards and gifts which can be distributed throughout the local community this Christmas and turning a challenging year into a memorable one.

At the Betfair Tingle Creek Festival, across both days, racegoers are being encouraged to bring with them a giftcard or small gift that can be dropped off in the Grandstand reception area at Sandown Park. The gift will be donated to the Community Centre who will in turn distribute it to the families most in need. Examples of gifts that the Centre would find really useful can be found below.

About The Centre

Lower Green Community Centre’s roots date back to 2007 and over the years the centre has flourished to become a community hub for local residents in the Lower Green area. The Centre provides a safe place for children and young families to socialise and runs various other activities and groups for different ages in the local area. Their work is crucial for its regular users.

FAQ's

To donate a giftcard or present simply bring your item with you to the Betfair Tingle Creek Festival and present it to one of our staff members at the designated drop off point inside the main grandstand reception.

The Community Centre will be grateful for any small gift that you are able to donate. Specific items that they are in need of are:

  • £10 gift cards to local high street retailers
  • Children’s games and puzzles
  • Footballs, soft balls and sports accessories such as drinking bottles
  • Christmas toiletry sets
  • Hats, scarves, gloves, socks
  • Thermal items of clothing
  • Children’s nightwear and slippers
  • Food selection boxes such as sweets and chocolates
  • Boxes of Christmas biscuits
  • Boxes of Christmas crackers, wrapping paper or gift bags

The centre requests that all gifts are new and sealed

The more presents the more people that benefit in the local community so there is no limit on number of gifts.

The Centre would prefer smaller items such as toiletries and small toys as these are easier to transport to the families.
