STABLE STAFF & STABLING INFORMATION AT CARLISLE

We have a ‘’Best turned out’’ award for each race and a leaderboard at the parade ring entrance which will be updated before each meeting. There will be a prize for the winner at the end of the season!
Hostel
Our Hostel has 12 bedrooms all ensuite including a shower and washroom. Stables are located about 10ft from the Hostel. We also have:
- A shower room
- Toilets
- Male Changing Room
- Female Changing Room
Bedrooms
Renovated in 2018 each room has:
- 32 inch flat screen TV
- 2 single beds (We will have single occupancy wherever possible)
- En-suite with a shower
- Power sockets with 2 USB charging points
- Clothes rail and shelf for storage of suitcase.
- Lockable Doors
Canteen
At Carlisle racecourse we offer complimentary food for all stable staff.
Stable staff, including box drivers receive a food voucher and complimentary Tea, Coffee and Water from the hostel Canteen.
We cater for all dietary requirements, but please let us know if you need anything specific.
If you are staying overnight we contribute £10 to your evening meal. To redeem this please come to the Racecourse office with your receipt to complete a form so that we can reimburse you.
If you are looking for somewhere to eat the evening before there is the Black Lion Pub which is located 0.6 miles up the road and has a lovely selection of food.

STABLE YARD FACILITIES
Carlisle has a stabling capacity of 94. This is located about 100 yards from the Pre-parade ring and Parade ring.
- 2 Taps down every alley along with one hosepipe (Cold Water Only)
- 2 Wash down bays with Hot and Cold Water
- Bedding – Paper or Shavings (Please let us know which you would prefer when booking)
- Lockers are available throughout the yard.
