At Carlisle Racecourse, we are committed to ensuring that all visitors, regardless of ability, can enjoy a great day at the races. We continually review and improve our facilities and services to meet accessibility needs and provide a welcoming and inclusive experience.
WHAT WE PROVIDE
Our team works hard to ensure access across the racecourse and to make appropriate adjustments where possible. While some areas of the venue are historic in design, we strive to offer practical solutions and support to visitors with accessibility requirements.
Arrival & Parking
-
Accessible parking spaces are available close to the main entrance to help make arrival as straightforward as possible.
- Blue Badge holders should follow signage on arrival and speak to stewards for assistance where needed.
ArOUND THE VENUE
-
Step-free access is provided to key public areas including parts of the grandstand.
-
Accessible toilets are located across the site.
-
Refreshment areas and facilities are accessible, with staff on hand to assist if required.
-
First Aid support is available; please ask a member of staff should you need assistance.
-
Assistance dogs are welcome to attend with their owners free of charge. We recommend contacting us ahead of your visit so we can advise on facilities on your event date.
COMPLIMENTARY PERSONAL ASSISTANT/CARER ADMISSION
We recognise that some guests may need additional support. If you are visiting Carlisle Racecourse with a carer or personal assistant, we provide a complimentary admission ticket for your assistant when needed, helping make your experience comfortable and supported.
Please note this policy does not apply to disabled visitors aged 17 and under, as all under-17s must be accompanied by a responsible adult who must purchase their own ticket.
Personal Assistant Ticket Conditions
The free ticket issued to your assistant will carry the same terms and conditions as your own ticket.
