Veronica Stephens announced as new Chair of Nottingham Racecourse

Article 4th September 2026 Nottingham

Veronica Stephens is announced as the new Chair of Nottingham Racecourse, succeeding Jeremy Bradbeer who sadly and unexpectedly passed away on August 15th 2026.

A member of the Racecourse Committee at the Colwick Park venue since 2017, Veronica is a lifelong racing fan who brings significant experience of the industry to her new role.

She is an honorary steward at Doncaster and Southwell racecourses and has enjoyed racehorse ownership for many years. She is currently a member of several successful Highclere Thoroughbred Racing syndicates and her passion for the sport also led to her taking on the role of Secretary of the Belvoir Point to Point and working for Pacemaker magazine.

An active member of the local community, Veronica was last year appointed Deputy Lieutenant of Lincolnshire.

Commenting on the appointment, The Jockey Club’s Senior Steward, Baroness Dido Harding, said: “The passing of Jeremy Bradbeer last month was very sad and came as a great shock to us all.

“The mark of a great Chair is always the strength of their committee and the legacy they leave behind and we are extremely fortunate to be able to appoint Veronica.

“The team at Nottingham have benefited greatly from her contributions since her appointment to the committee nearly 10 years ago. Her passion for the racecourse and the significant experience she brings from both the racing world and the wider East Midlands region are hugely valuable.

“Nottingham has a tremendous sporting heritage and I know that Veronica shares the enthusiasm that Jeremy had for ensuring that the racecourse is very much a part of that.”
