the thrill of the jumps
Make it your resolution to join us for quality Jump racing at our stunning racecourse this new year.
Contenders Day on the first Saturday in February is a brilliant day out. It's a chance to see some potential future stars, with winners of the Grade 1 Novices' Chase going on to triumph at Cheltenham Festival.
For a day with a difference, save the date for Royal Artillery Gold Cup Day in mid-February. Steeped in history, it features Sandown Park's oldest race, where jockeys are either past or existing members of the Armed Forces. The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery also attend, dressed in the traditional manner, which is a spectacle of colour and grace.
Start the weekend early with a Friday afternoon of racing on Grand Military Gold Cup Day in early March. The traditional day of Jump racing includes the Grand Military Gold Cup, first run in 1841.
For a quality Saturday of racing, don't miss Imperial Cup Day the day after. Only a few days before Cheltenham Festival, the day features two Grade 3 hurdles, a listed Flat race, entertainment around the racecourse and the Cheltenham Preview Panel, where top trainers and jockeys share exclusive news and tips.
The bet365 Jump Finale is Racing's Crowning Glory. With an electric atmosphere, quality card and the crowning of champions, it's a celebration of racing and the end of another Jump season like no other.
