Friday 2 & Saturday 3 July
the event of the summer
The highlight of the summer, the Coral Summer Festival is back for 2021. Over two spectacular days you can watch impressive racing and see the stars of the sport here at Sandown Park. Please be aware you will not be able to purchase tickets on the day at the racecourse.
One of the highlights of the season, the Coral Summer Festival features two days of the very best Flat racing at Sandown Park at the beginning of July.
The feature day is Coral-Eclipse Day on the Saturday, a card which features seven thrilling races and is headlined by the prestigious Group One Coral-Eclipse over a mile and a quarter.
The race is the first major opportunity for the Classic generation of three year olds to face their older rivals and its roll of honour reads like a ‘Who’s Who’ of world class thoroughbreds - Mill Reef (1971), Sea The Stars (2009) and Enable (2019) to name but a few.
The supporting card on Saturday includes the Listed Coral Marathon (registered as the Esher Stakes) over two miles and the Group Three Coral Charge (registered as the Sprint Stakes) over five furlongs. The latter regularly produces a top sprinter and was won by the trailblazing Battaash back in 2017.
Meanwhile, the Friday of the meeting is known as Ladies’ Day and offers a mix of high quality racing, fashion and off-track entertainment.
The seven-race card features two Listed contests, including the Dragon Stakes for two year olds over five furlongs. A fast and frenetic affair on the sprint track, it pays to keep an eye on the winner in future, with 2016 victor The Last Lion just one of those who has gone on to win the top juvenile prize in the form of the Group One Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket.
There’s plenty to keep everyone entertained off the track over the two days, meaning the Coral Summer Festival at Sandown Park is a must for your diary!
The Style Awards celebrate the very best dressed people on course and are an opportunity for you to get dressed up with your friends and family and make a fashion statement at the races.

We are greatly looking forward to welcoming spectators to our Coral Summer Festival fixture this weekend. We hope that the weather will be kind, but such is the nature of the great British summer that we cannot guarantee it will be. Therefore, we suggest that you dress appropriately and bring waterproof clothing with you.
While we do have a number of indoor spaces for you to escape the rain, access to these spaces is limited by the number of people who can safely adhere to social distancing within. Please note that when we have reached the capacity for these spaces, you will need to find an alternative space or put on one of our free ponchos and face the elements!
