Warwick Racecourse Delighted to Welcome Back the JETS Richard Davis Awards

Article 23rd July 2026 Warwick

Warwick Racecourse is proud to once again host the prestigious JETS Richard Davis Awards, welcoming finalists, industry professionals and guests to the racecourse on Tuesday 3 November for an afternoon celebrating the outstanding achievements of jockeys, both during and after their riding careers.

The annual Awards, organised by JETS (Jockeys Education & Training Scheme), recognise the career development of current and former jockeys who have demonstrated dedication, ambition and success in building their futures beyond the saddle.

First held in 1997, the Awards honour the memory of Jump Jockey Richard Davis, who had already begun planning for his second career before tragically losing his life in a race fall in 1996. Since then, the Awards have celebrated the achievements of more than 100 jockeys as they have successfully transitioned into new careers and businesses.

This year's Awards introduce an exciting new category – the IJF Enterprise Award – replacing the previous Progress Award. Sponsored by the Injured Jockeys Fund, the award recognises former jockeys who have shown entrepreneurship, innovation and initiative in developing their own business, freelance career or enterprise.

The 2026 award categories are:

  • The Jockey Club Achievement Award – recognising former jockeys who have demonstrated significant achievement, commitment and sustained progression in their chosen career beyond racing.
  • IJF Enterprise Award – celebrating entrepreneurial spirit, innovation and initiative in establishing or growing a business or enterprise.
  • BHA Development Award – recognising currently licensed jockeys who have shown exceptional commitment to their personal and professional development while continuing to ride.

Entries for the 2026 Richard Davis Awards are now open and will close on Friday 28 August. Three finalists will be selected in each category and invited to attend the Awards ceremony at Warwick Racecourse on Tuesday 3 November.

We're delighted to once again play host to this special event, which recognises the people who make our sport so unique. The Richard Davis Awards are a fitting celebration of the determination, resilience and talent shown by jockeys both on and off the racecourse, and we look forward to welcoming this year's finalists and their guests to Warwick.
