The New Year's Eve Raceday attracted more than 4,000 racegoers last year, and with attendances on the rise throughout 2016 - up 21 per cent on 2015 - and New Year’s Eve on a Saturday this year, another bumper crowd is expected for the countdown to 2017.
The afternoon will include seven races, with the gates open from 10am, the first race at noon and last at 3.20pm.
There is plenty of entertainment scheduled in addition to the action on the track, including live music, stilt walkers and a rodeo reindeer.
Andre Klein, General Manager at Warwick Racecourse, has earmarked the New Year's Eve fixture as one he is keen to see grow in popularity and has stated that it could become Warwick’s iconic race day.
“Pre-sales have been going fantastically well and are well in front of last year. We are hopeful to get close to 5,000 people,” he said.
“There’s nothing better than seeing the stands at a race track packed to the rafters with people enjoying the occasion. It makes for a wonderful atmosphere.
“The event will be a great way to close what has been an incredibly successful year for everyone here at Warwick Racecourse, a year our team have put on a brilliant calendar of events and we have seen all the key performance related areas grow. Corporate hospitality attendances are up close to 30 per cent, which is really pleasing to see.
“It should be a great afternoon of racing and hopefully we can end the year on a high.”
