Betway to sponsor Kingmaker at Warwick Racecourse

Press Release 18th January 2017 Warwick

Warwick Racecourse has been given a boost ahead of its next feature raceday – the Gentlemen’s and Kingmaker Chase Day on Saturday, February 11.

Leading online bookmaker Betway has agreed a deal to sponsor feature race of the day, the Grade 2 Betway Kingmaker Novices’ Chase - continuing the firm’s investment in the sport.

The race has been won the past by greats such as Long Run and Finian’s Rainbow.

Andre Klein, General Manager at Warwick Racecourse, said: “The Kingmaker Novice Chase is a fantastic race and has been won by some of very classy horses.

“The likes of Long Run, Flagship Uberalles and Voy Por Ustedes are amongst recent winners who used the Kingmaker as a stepping stone to even greater success.

“To have Betway on-board as a sponsor is seriously terrific news for Warwick and we look forward enormously to helping them achieve their objectives.”

Carey Buckler, Regional Head of Partnerships for the south west region of Jockey Club Racecourses, added: “We’re really pleased to be working alongside Betway as they continue to invest in racing with Jockey Club Racecourses.

“The Betway Kingmaker Novices’ Chase is a key race in the build up to The Festival and is a great addition to Betway’s sponsorship portfolio.”

Betway, who gained Authorised Betting Partner status in October, have also penned a deal to sponsor the full card at Wincanton on Saturday February 18.

Anthony Werkman, marketing and operations director at Betway, said: “Betway took a significant step in becoming an Authorised Betting Partner in 2016 and that status now affords us the opportunity to invest further in British racing.

“We look forward to building relationships with new racecourses going forward, while also bringing our customers great offers.”
