Bonfire celebrations come to Warwick Racecourse

Press Release 24th October 2018 Warwick

The winter celebrations will start with a bang at Warwick Racecourse with the return of the town’s annual bonfire and firework extravaganza.

The Warwick Town Bonfire on Saturday, November 3 welcomes Warwick residents to the racecourse for a night of fantastic pyrotechnic displays to celebrate Guy Fawkes Night.

The event, organised by the Rotary Club of Warwick, and the Warwick Lions Club, is being supported by local restaurant The Tuckery, housebuilding company Bovis Homes, and manufacturing company Unipart logistics, in a bid to smash last year’s £26,000 fundraising total through refreshment and ticket sales.

Warwick Racecourse is offering a two-course ‘meal with a view’ from inside the Kingmaker Bar, with a hot chilli meal and followed by sticky toffee pudding set to be served while the show gets underway.

Other visitors will have the option to witness the main event from the shelter of the main grandstand, as a steel band provides a Caribbean twist to the evening.

There will also be a range of hot food and drinks for visitors to enjoy throughout the evening, with proceeds going to local charities.

The bonfire is set to be lit at 6.30pm, with the main firework display taking place just after.

Andre Klein, General Manager at Warwick Racecourse, said: “The town bonfire is the perfect way to mark the start of the holiday season.

“We want to make sure that this event is for everyone. With that in mind, there will also be a mini-display to keep the kids entertained in the run up to the main firework show, and free parking available on site.

“Those wishing to attend can pick up tickets from various local outlets as well as online. It’s worth buying early as we are offering a discount for those who pick up advance tickets.

“It’s always great to see all the familiar faces come along and enjoy the bonfire night, and this year will be no different.”

Advance tickets are £7 for adults or £3 for children up to the age of 15, and can be purchased from various post offices, newsagents, tourist information centres in Warwick and Leamington, or online at www.warwickracecourse.co.uk.

Reservations are required for the Kingmaker Bar ‘meal with a view’ in advance online or by calling 01926 405656. For more information visit www.warwicktownbonfire.org.uk
