a somerset tradition
Christmas holidays were made for a day at the races, and all roads lead to Wincanton Racecourse on Boxing Day when the county celebrates one of its finest traditions.
IF YOU BOOKED YOUR TICKETS IN ADVANCE, YOU COULD BE IN WITH A CHANCE OF WINNING two tickets to The Festival™ presented by Magners in March 2019 worth over £200.
Don your tweed, wear your brightest coat, and pull on your new hat and gloves that you received for Christmas because nothing beats that feeling when you’re out in the fresh air, watching the horses in the Pre-Parade Ring, bumping into friends and cheering the horses home to the Winning Post.
Christmas is such a special time. If you are with friends and family, bring them along and keep the festive celebrations going. It is the perfect place to walk off all that Christmas turkey, and be a part of one of the biggest sporting days in the calendar.
The team here at Wincanton have a few Top Tips to make your day a success:
Wear: Something festive! Hang on to the Christmas spirit and celebrate with us this Boxing Day!
See: The pre-parade ring. Watch the horses getting saddled ahead of the racing
Buy: Treat yourself to a Raceday Essentials Package and have all you need to enjoy your day at the races
Get involved: Have a flutter! Why not place a bet and cheer home your horse – you could finish the year on a winner!
Under 18s can come racing for FREE when attending with a full paying adult.
If you are traveling by car, there will be complimentary Park and Ride from Morrison’s Carpark which will be starting at approximately 10.15am and running throughout the day with a short break at about 1.00pm.
