DahlBury will continue its support of The Derby Festival as the sponsor of the Group One DahlBury Coronation Cup and the Style Awards, both held on Ladies Day, Friday 2nd June 2023.

A brand passionate about honouring Thoroughbred racehorse heritage, preserving its legacy and nurturing the future generations here within Great Britain, DahlBury was founded by Simon and Rhian Davies. The operation’s stallion roster stands at Chapel Stud in Worcestershire, and includes Planteur, the sire of 2021 Cartier Champion Stayer and dual Group One scorer Trueshan.

The DahlBury Coronation Cup is one of the top middle-distance Flat races in the world, and this year a perpetual trophy from the running of the race in 1902 will be presented to the winning owner to highlight the heritage of the contest. The Group One was formerly known as the Epsom Cup but became the Coronation Cup in that year to commemorate the Coronation of King Edward VII. The Epsom Cup has since lived in the Jockey Club Rooms in Newmarket.

Ladies Day at Epsom Downs is one of the highlights of the summer, with exceptional racing including the DahlBury Coronation Cup as well as the Style Awards, which will celebrate the best dressed racegoers with an exceptional range of prizes available.

DahlBury, in collaboration with Emily-London are kindly gifting an Emily-London Luxury Headwear Gift Card of £1500, which will sit alongside other prizes that include hospitality to return to Epsom Downs, tickets for Ladies Day 2024 and a House of Cavani voucher.

For the first time, the judging panel has been removed from the Style Awards, and the general public will have the chance to vote for the winner. Racegoers must enter at the Derby Festival on Friday 2nd June, before there is a public vote via the Epsom Downs Facebook page, which will open on Sunday 4th June. The winners will then be announced on Monday 12th June.

Rhian Davies commented: “DahlBury is delighted to continue its association and support, of the DahlBury Coronation Cup in the year of the Coronation of our new King. We are also thrilled to be the sponsor of this years’ Style Awards on Ladies Day in collaboration with Emily-London. This is a day we feel encompasses our brand values, whilst maintaining the heritage that is involved with British horse racing.”

James Crespi, General Manager of Epsom Downs, added: “We must say a huge thank you to DahlBury for their support across our Ladies Day this year. The DahlBury Coronation Cup has an incredible heritage and to be able to present the Epsom Cup from early last century to the winning owner will add a suitably historic touch on what should be a spectacular day on the Downs.”

Tickets for Ladies Day are still available via the Epsom Downs website, www.thejockeyclub.co.uk/epsom.
