As the first Grade One chase of the season, the Betfair Chase sets the stage for an exhilarating campaign of world-class jumps racing. Racing fans can look forward to a thrilling day, where top-class racehorses, passionate crowds and unforgettable sporting moments come together.
The race has a proud history of attracting some of the biggest names in jump racing. Legendary chaser Kauto Star famously used the Betfair Chase as a key stepping stone on his route to further success at The Cheltenham Festival, cementing the race’s reputation as a true test of championship quality.

Betfair Chase History

The Betfair Chase was first run in 2005 and was established as a Grade 1 race, making it one of the top events in the National Hunt racing calendar.
The race has consistently held its Grade 1 status, attracting some of the best chasers in the world. Many of the top trainers and jockeys eagerly target this event each year.
