Sponsor Betfair makes Lazzat its clear 2-1 Favourite for the £400,000 Betfair Sprint Cup at Haydock Park on Saturday 6th September.  Open to three-year-olds and upwards, the Group One six-furlong event is the most prestigious Flat race of the year to be staged at Haydock Park.

Trained by Marseille-based Jerome Reynier, Lazzat was last seen when victorious in the Group One Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot in June. The four-year-old is one of a bumper five entries from France. French-trained runners have a good record in the Sprint Cup since it was inaugurated in 1966 with five wins courtesy of Lianga (1975), Polar Falcon (1991), Cherokee Rose (1995), Nuclear Debate (2001) and African Rose (2008).

Currently sharing 10-1 second favouritism are two exciting three-year-olds in Sayidah Dariyan (Richard Hughes) and Arizone Breeze (Adrian Murray, Ireland) who both recording eye-catching victories last time out.

No Half Measures (Richard Hughes) provided her trainer with a breakthrough first Group One success in the Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai July Cup at Newmarket and she is entered along with the runner-up from that race Big Mojo (Mick Appleby) and third Run To Freedom (Henry Candy).

There is one previous winner entered in Regional (Edward Bethell), the 2023 scorer.
