With the Jump season well underway, it’s time to get serious about racing – and there’s no better way to do it than the William Hill Classic Chase Day on Saturday 16th January.
One of Warwick’s feature racedays, it promises a thrilling seven-race card including two graded races, culminating in the William Hill Classic Handicap Steeple Chase, the highlight of the day. This fixture delivers the perfect mix of seasoned handicappers and rising stars, giving racegoers a taste of what’s to come throughout the season.
If there is one day to head to Warwick Racecourse then this is it. Plus, we'll be live on ITV racing, so come and be part of the action in front of the cameras!

CLASSIC BY NAME, CLASSIC BY NATURE
The Classic Chase race is a Grade 3 handicap steeplechase raced at Warwick Racecourse in January of each year.
The first running of the race took place in 1973 (previously called The Warwick Brooke Bond Oxo National Chase) up until 2000. The Classic Chase race as we know it was introduced in 2004.
It welcomes horses aged five and over to run over a distance of around 3m 5f 54yds with 22 fences jumped.
It's a test of stamina in every sense of the word and has proven to be a great prep for the Randox Grand National, with One For Arthur winning both races in 2017.

William Hill £500,000 ‘Half a Mill’ Grand National Bonus
William Hill are excited to announce the ‘William Hill Half a Mill’ bonus series is back, offering £500,000 to connections of any horse that can win both a key trial race and the Randox Grand National in the same season.
The bonus applies to winners of the William Hill Becher Chase (Aintree), Classic Chase (Warwick) and Grand National Trial (Haydock) who go on to triumph in the Randox Grand National at Aintree on 10 April 2027, doubling potential prize money to £1 million.
This initiative rewards ambition and aims to reignite the competitive road to the National, echoing legends like One For Arthur, winner of the Classic Chase and Grand National in 2017.
