A partnership with Cheltenham:
Warwick’s connections to Cheltenham go back over a long time with some big names winning at Warwick, before going on to win at the Cheltenham Festival.
Warwick’s Classic Chase staged over three miles and five furlongs is undoubtedly the highlight of the Warwick season but also a stepping stone for horses looking for glory in Cheltenham Festivals prestigious Ultima Handicap chase. Over the years four horses have placed in the Classic Chase and gone on to win the Ultima.
These include: Corach Rambler, The Conditional, Un Temps Pour Tout and Holywell.
Over the last 10 years other horses that have won at Warwick and then achieved success at the Cheltenham Festival include Stage Star, Sire Du Berlais, Edwardstone, Marie’s Rock, Willoughby Court, Black Hercules, Glens Melody and Hawkeye.
