Warwick Racecourse is saddling up for one of its biggest days of the year which is on track to be a sell-out.
Ladies Night is the second instalment of the Qatar Airways May Racing Carnival at Warwick and is set to attract a record crowd with strong demand for advanced tickets.
The twilight fixture on Saturday, May 12 is Warwick’s most glamorous event and a social highlight in the region’s calendar with punters going the extra furlong in the style stakes.
The action gets underway when the gates open at 3.30pm with Warwick band The Peas setting the tone with live music for racegoers to dance their way into the course ahead of the first of seven races going off at 5.30pm.
One of the high points alongside the racing will be the ‘Fashions On The Field’ and ‘Best Hat’ competitions which will come to a head with judging and prize-giving before the penultimate race.
Sarah Horne, owner of Sarah Horne Flowers, Chris Best, business development manager and interim sales and marketing manager at Ardencote Manor Hotel, and Katie McPhilimey, editor of Live 24-Seven, will make up the judging panel.
Prizes include return flights from Birmingham to Doha with Qatar Airways, a spa day at Ardencote Manor Hotel, an Audi TT for the weekend from Listers Audi and glamping at Warwick Castle.
The live music will continue after the last race at 8.30pm with a leading Robbie Williams tribute act entertaining the crowds.
Andre Klein, General Manager of Warwick Racecourse, said: “Ladies Night is certainly shaping up to be our best ever with the number of advanced ticket sales suggesting that we’re on track for a record crowd.
“It is one of our biggest days and has a growing reputation for being a fantastic occasion, which this year will be really enhanced with a top line-up of prizes and entertainment.
“Preparations are well underway and we’re looking forward to welcoming everyone through the gates.”
The Qatar Airways May Racing Carnival has been extended to four fixtures this year and opens with Kids Carnival Day on the first Bank Holiday of the month, Monday, May 7, followed by Ladies Night in the same week.
