A Coventry and Warwickshire construction firm has signed up to support the Warwick Half Marathon – as organisers prepare for the race this weekend.
The Wigley Group will be the headline sponsor of the event, which is organised by Warwick Racecourse and will take place on Sunday, March 3.
It will start and finish at Warwick Racecourse and is UKA affiliated, so will count toward official times for the running season, with thousands of runners from across the region set to take part.
The Wigley Group Warwick Half Marathon will be held in support of the British Heart Foundation and Warwick Rotary Club.
James Davies, Managing Director of the Wigley Group, said: “We have an established relationship with the team at Warwick Racecourse and are delighted to be supporting the Warwick Half Marathon this year.
“As a company we pride ourselves on promoting health and wellbeing and this event is very important for the region.
“Having run the race myself a few years ago, I know first-hand that it is a fantastic event and route.
“We are very proud to be the main sponsor this year and wish everyone taking part the best of luck.”
The run, which begins at 9am, is suitable for runners of all abilities and wheelchair users.
Andre Klein, General Manager at Warwick Racecourse, said:
“We have worked closely with The Wigley Group for a number of years and to have them on board as title sponsor of this year’s event is a great boost.
“All of us at the racecourse are looking forward to the event and the Jockey Club will be fielding a team of runners to take part too.
“We have a strong field of runners already signed up to compete, but there is still time for people to join and be part of a fantastic day for Warwick and the wider region.”
