Newcomers Day on Saturday 5 January
Newcomers Day at Wincanton Racecourse welcomes new racegoers and is the perfect introduction to the sport. At 10:30am there will be an ‘All You Need To Know Zone’ hosted by popular Jump jockeys, David Crosse and Mark Wall. Racegoers will then get the opportunity to enjoy a coursewalk at 11:15am before our opening race and get a closer look at where the action will be taking place. Somerset National Day on Thursday 17 January
A fine opportunity to watch some of our best-loved chasers take their place in the limelight. It’s a race with a great history, with past winners including Alfie Spinner, a veteran of 46 races and victor of the 2017 Somerset National with Jamie Moore in the saddle and the wonderful Golden Chieftain who won the 2016 renewal - all hugely adored horses who strike a chord with their legions of fans.
