Are you wondering how fans of the infamous sporting event can watch all the action from home?

The Cheltenham Festival returns on Tuesday 11 - Friday 14 March 2025 and we want to make sure you're prepared!

Watching Cheltenham live on TV is sure to be a different experience from the usual glamour and excitement of attending a day at Cheltenham Racecourse, but there’s no reason why you can’t still enjoy yourselves and make an occasion of it at home!

If you’re planning to watch Cheltenham from home, here’s everything you’ll need to prepare for a virtual race day.

Where & how to watch

There are two options when it comes to watching Cheltenham on TV from home - ITV Racing and Racing TV. Almost all of the races from The Festival will be available to watch for free on ITV Racing, while Racing TV provides full coverage and is available through Sky and Virgin Media.

Live streaming Cheltenham is another option if you don’t have Sky or Virgin media, or you can’t watch from your television. ITV Racing and Racing TV will both be live streaming the Cheltenham Festival races – including the WellChild Cheltenham Gold Cup.

  1. Set up an account - You will need to create an account to access ITV and Racing TV online. Make sure this is set up before The Festival starts – you don’t want to miss any of the action!
  2. Check your internet connection - If you’re watching The Festival via livestream, make sure you have a reliable internet connection, either via WiFi or your smartphone’s data. If you are using smartphone data, make sure your package will cover the usage!
