Calling all budding authors aged 8 to 16 - it's competition time! 

Ahead of the Superheroes Return Family Fun Day on 28th August, we are running a Creative Writing Competition over the Summer Holidays, open to 8 to 16 year olds, to get involved and get creative!

We are looking for a story with a maximum of 250 words, the story must include mention of a horse, jockey, super power(s) and Epsom Downs Racecourse, but the rest is up to the writer!

Clare Balding, OBE and award winning broadcaster, journalist and author has kindly agreed to judge the competition and award the prize to the budding author at the Superheroes Return Family Fun Day on the 28th August, at Epsom Downs Racecourse. The winner will not only have the pleasure of meeting Clare Balding, but will also have their story printed in the raceday programme and receive a gift voucher to be spent as they wish.

Entries close on the 14th August and can be submitted via email or post. Please send to epsom.marketing@thejockeyclub.co.uk with the subject line CREATIVE WRITING COMPETITION or to Epsom Downs Racecourse, Epsom Downs, Surrey, KT18 5LQ for the attention of The Creative Writing Competition.

Please include the author’s name and age plus a parent/guardian’s telephone number, email address and home address. All entries will be eligible to purchase two tickets at half the gate price for the Superhero’s Return Family Fun Day, under 18’s come racing for FREE.
