The amazing prize of a £1,000 holiday voucher alongside tickets to the 2027 Randox Grand National Festival at Aintree offered in the Style Awards at Haydock Park today, Rose Of Lancaster Stakes Ladies Day, went to a local winner in St Helens-based Lucy Traynor.

The Style Awards were judged by a panel, including Gemma Cutting from The Guide. Lucy came out on top of the three finalists selected by the panel and expressed amazement at her success.

She said: “It feels amazing, I can’t believe it! It’s been such a lovely day.

“I just came to have an amazing day out at Haydock with my friends, which we always do. This is just the cherry on top of the cake.

“I come quite often to Haydock. It’s always a wonderful day and it’s always better when the weather is like it is today.

“I have to give a shout out to my mum, as it was her who said you need to enter the Style Awards. This isn’t something I would usually do, so it’s a bit out of my comfort zone.

“I bought this outfit for my lovely sister-in-law’s wedding, it came from ASOS and the shoes are from Topshop. I love it so much I wanted to re-wear it today.

“Last night I had a bit of a panic and thought I need to put something in my hair and so I bought some fabric from a local fabric shop and at 10pm I was wrapping it around a hair band really hard! Don’t look at it too closely as it was a bit haphazard!

“I can’t believe it today. I’ve been very, very lucky.”
