General Manager
Sophie Able
As the General Manager at Newmarket, I get involved in all aspects of the Racecourse. This involves working with all of our departments in both planning and delivery of our 39 racedays and also our conferencing and events business which operates throughout the year. My role on a raceday is to make sure that we as a team are delivering the best experience for all of our guests both on and off the track.
Racing Director
Andrew Morris
As Racing Director I oversee all racing matters across the East Region. This includes working with various different stakeholders within the sport – be that the BHA, Owners, Trainers and jockeys, I also oversee our hard working Groundstaff, who ensure the grounds are always in optimum condition. On a race day I act as Clerk of the Course for Newmarket, and my main duties are to make sure that everything happens safely and timely from an equine point of view.
