Opening the Gates on a New Season!
Join us on Sunday 25 October for our Season Opener, kicking off an exciting new Jump Racing season. We’re also proud to be supporting a charity on the day, High Sheriff of Somerset, scroll below for more information on the incredible work they do.
If you’re looking for a memorable day out in Wincanton, Somerset, our Season Opener is the perfect choice. Enjoy an afternoon of thrilling jump racing, with seven races set to keep you on the edge of your seat. There will also be a wide range of food and drink options available throughout the day.
Alongside the racing, there will be a small selection of free children's activities, including a bouncy castle, mega slide, Garden Games and Beat the Goalie, adding a little extra fun for families while taking in the stunning Somerset countryside.
We're also delighted to share that Funtasia has kindly donated the bouncy castle for the day in support of our Children's Charity Raceday, helping to make the event even more enjoyable for our younger racegoers.

Hospitality at Wincanton Racecourse

The Keagan Kirkby Stable Staff Charity Race in Aid of High Sheriff of Somerset Charitable Trust and The Eloise & Kate Memorial Trust

Our season opener will play host to the Keagan Kirkby Perpetual Trophy in memory of Keagan Kirkby, who tragically lost his life in a fall at the Charing point-to-point in February. Keagan, a much-loved and respected member of Paul Nicholls’ team, made a lasting impact on those around him. His loss was deeply felt across the racing community, both locally and beyond.
The trophy will be awarded annually as part of a stable staff charity race, created to celebrate Keagan’s life and passion for racing. This year’s race will be run in support of High Sheriff of Somerset Charitable Trust and The Eloise & Kate Memorial Trust.
Entries have now closed for the Charity Race.
