More on Our Charity Partner
At this season’s opening fixture, Wincanton Racecourse is proud to support the charitable work of the High Sheriff of Somerset.
The High Sheriff is a historic, independent and non-political office, appointed annually to support the Crown and the judiciary in Somerset, as well as to recognise and champion the vital work of emergency services, voluntary organisations, and community groups across the county.
Today, the role focuses on promoting community safety, supporting the justice system, and celebrating those who contribute to building stronger, safer communities. This includes engagement with organisations working across crime reduction, youth development, rehabilitation, and wider community support.
Through visits, events, and advocacy, the High Sheriff helps to highlight outstanding local efforts and encourage collaboration between public services, charities, and volunteers throughout Somerset.
By partnering with the High Sheriff of Somerset, Wincanton Racecourse is pleased to help recognise and support this important work at our season opener, celebrating the people and organisations who make a meaningful difference across the county.
