Wednesday’s National Hunt meeting at Carlisle Racecourse has been abandoned due to frozen ground.
This follows a course inspection which took place this afternoon (Tuesday February 6th).
A spokesman for Carlisle Racecourse said: “Following many days of sub-zero temperatures, and snowfall earlier today, we inspected the course this afternoon.
“Areas of the course are snow covered and frozen. This, combined with the forecast which will see temperatures falling to -3° overnight, means we have had to take the decision to abandon racing on Wednesday.
“All pre-booked tickets will be automatically refunded.”
The next race meeting at Carlisle will be on Monday February 19th 2018.
