MASSIVE UPSET IN GROUP ONE TATTERSALLS FALMOUTH STAKES AS 16-1 PROSPEROUS VOYAGE DEFEATS 1-7 INSPIRAL

 

There was a huge turn up in the Group One Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes, highlight of Festival Friday at the Moët & Chandon July Festival at Newmarket today, when Prosperous Voyage (16-1) pushed 1-7 market leader Inspiral into second place.

 

The winner, who was runner-up in the QIPCO 1000 Guineas earlier this season, had only finished 10th behind Inspiral in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot last time out but left that form well behind her today.

A day to remember for Rob Hornby as he landed his first British Group 1 on Prosperous Voyage in the Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes.


Staged over a mile, the Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes is part of the QIPCO British Champions Series.

 

NEW LONDON BOUNCES BACK IN BET365 HANDICAP TO EARN STEP BACK UP INTO GROUP COMPANY

 

After saddling a double on day one of the Moët & Chandon July Festival, Godolphin trainer Charlie Appleby carried on where he had left on when New London (6-4 Favourite) came home the comfortable winner of the £100,000 bet365 Handicap (1m 2f).
