Alice Ryan

Alice Ryan Headshot_SML.jpg

Alice Ryan has been a journalist for 25 years and a magazine editor for 15. Her interest in fashion is both professional and personal: while her job requires her to keep up with the trends, her passion for clothes and their ability to empower and transform dates back to her teens (when she took out her first Vogue subscription - she subscribes to this day). Her fashion hero remains Alexander McQueen: combining refined, restrained tailoring with a singular punk spirit, his designs are a tightrope-walk between reality and fantasy. A lover of preloved and vintage pieces in particular, Alice is looking for outfits which tell a story - and showcase their wearer's personal style.

Mandy Weetch began her career in fashion in the 1990s before transitioning to music PR in the 2000s, promoting artists including Paolo Nutini, Travis, JLS, The Darkness, Paloma Faith, and Lemar (to name a few). With a passion for dynamic colours, prints and fashion, Mandy, alongside business partner Abi North, founded Neon Leo.

Mandy's style is defined by bold and vibrant fashion, embracing femininity and color. She believes that fashion has the power to uplift and transform one's mood, promoting authenticity and self-expression. Ahead of the 2024 Boodles July Festival Style Awards, Mandy is on the lookout for a fashion-forward, unique, and, of course, preloved or rented ensemble. Good luck to all participants!

Neon Leo was founded in 2022 by business partners Abi and Mandy. Niche in it’s journey to offer exceptional fashion rentals and preloved clothing, Neon Leo reflects the growing preference for slow and sustainable fashion. Notable milestones include providing their wardrobe for a photoshoot with sustainable jewellery brand Scream Pretty, opening a physical store at No 7 Market Row in Saffron Walden, and achieving the title of Best Women’s Fashion Retailer for Muddy Stilettos, Essex. Neon Leo has recently celebrated its one-year anniversary with exciting projects lining up, including a second cover shoot for July’s Velvet Magazine and working alongside Velvet as the sustainable fashion partner for the Style Awards at The Boodles July Festival at Newmarket Racecourses.

Abigail started her working career in advertising - she worked alongside print media clients in planning their branded creative campaigns. She moved into the art space and helped UK based urban artists with their socials and marketing strategies. Forever obsessed with fashion and trending looks, Abi fulfilled her lifelong dream of opening a slow fashion boutique Neon Leo with partner Mandy Weetch - wanting to give women a positive shopping experience that is both trend led and sustainable.

Abi’s style is functional elegance with a trend-led flair. Making jeans work for any occasion, she loves accessorising wardrobe staples to give outfits a contemporary, fashionable twist. Abi is on the lookout for someone who showcases themselves with confidence and has created a head-to-toe look sustainably, without compromising on style.
