Witness history being made at the Betway Old Newton Cup Day!

Ever popular, this fixture is sure to attract some of the best Flat racers on the circuit. The day offers a roaring atmosphere and top-class racing, you won’t want to miss out!

The race represents the last tangible link with the old racecourse on Newton Common where horse racing took place from at least 1678 through to the move to the present course in 1899. The origins of the race can be traced back to the Newton Gold Cup, first run in 1807 over a distance of four miles and won by Mr. G. Cholmondeley’s horse Young Chariot.
